DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

UC Systemwide Procurement is the $10B+ procurement and supply chain engine for the University of California system. We collaborate with campus procurement leaders to design and execute systemwide sourcing strategies that leverage UC's scale to optimize spend, elevate service quality, and drive measurable social and environmental impact. Our team is redefining how UC acquires goods and services-applying best-in-class category management and sourcing, advancing sustainability, expanding engagement with small and local businesses, investing in leading-edge tools and analytics, and building high-value supplier partnerships for long-term value for the UC system. Recognized nationally as a public procurement leader, UC serves as a cooperative purchasing lead agency, with contracts utilized by more than 7,500 public education and government entities across all 50 states. These organizations rely on UC's expertise, credibility, and economies of scale to maximize value and reduce costs. Systemwide Procurement is a high-performing, strategic organization of about 50 professionals in sourcing and category management, data analytics, procurement technology, communications and operations, committed to a continuous improvement culture. Position Summary

The Revenue Generation & Partnerships Summer Intern provides administrative and analytical support to the Revenue Generation & Partnerships team. You'll work with the Lead Agency Marketing Partnership (LAMP) team, which supports UC departments by improving the way financial transactions and supplier payments happen across the UC system. Under general supervision, the intern assists with documentation, process development, marketing, tool configuration support, and related project coordination activities. The position is designed to provide hands-on learning while contributing to departmental improvement initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Scheduling departmental meetings to determine needs while promoting UC contracts to support
  • Building supplier and campus outreach campaigns and communication templates (emails, call scripts, social media, FAQs)
  • Researching supplier and campus feedback to improve the LAMP program experience
  • Collaborating with teams across Suppliers, UCOP, campus procurement and stakeholders across the system
  • Supporting virtual events or supplier information sessions
  • Learning how cooperative purchasing programs work across government, education, and business sectors
  • Compile and organize project-related data, documentation, and reference materials
  • Assist with project value identification and strategic alignment
  • Participate in meetings and take notes or summarize discussions as needed
  • Prepare draft materials, summaries, or presentations related to internship work and learning outcomes
  • Perform related duties as assigned in support of program and project management operations

Required Qualifications

  • Enrollment as an upper-division undergraduate or graduate student at a University of California campus
  • Coursework in project management, business administration, information systems, operations, or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to learn new systems and tools quickly
  • Proficiency with standard office software (word processing, spreadsheets, presentation tools)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Coursework or familiarity with business and marketing methodologies
  • Experience with process documentation or professional communication
  • Interest in sourcing, sales, or marketing related career paths

Education

High school graduate and/or equivalent experience/training
