Position Summary
The RN Staff Nurse I supports a premier Vascular Surgery team in a 100% outpatient, clinic-based setting. This position is designed for an organized, collaborative Registered Nurse seeking a high-functioning clinical environment with excellent daytime hours and no weekend or holiday commitments.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
Location: Multiple modern outpatient clinical spaces.
Remote Flexibility: Eligible for one remote day per week after six months of employment in good standing.
The RN Staff Nurse I partners directly with multiple surgeons, accompanying them to clinic to manage schedules, communication, and daily workflow. In this role, the nurse coordinates surgical cases by handling scheduling, clinical phone calls, medical orders, and comprehensive referral preparation prior to physician review. Additionally, they assist with hands-on, in-office vascular procedures, ensuring seamless execution through precise sterile setup and proactive supply inventory management.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Utilizes the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating a plan of patient care.
- Provides patient care, which may include administering medication, performing procedures and monitoring patient status in accordance with approved nursing practice.
- Provides appropriate counsel and education to patients/families regarding disease process and symptom management.
- Maintains medical records requiring appropriate and timely recording of patient information.
- Consults with members of the health care team, adjusting nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Assists the health care provider with examinations, procedures, prescription refills and other processes related to direct patient care.
- Maintains required skills and competencies and participates in educational programs, staff meetings and in services such as CPR as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: Associate degree - Nursing
Certifications/Professional Licenses: Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, Basic Life Support - American Red Cross, Registered Nurse - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Registered Nurse - Missouri Division of Professional Registration
More About This Job
Required Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Current RN licensure in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on location, in accordance with Compact Act.
Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).
