private donor scholarships. Monitors and tracks data, including preparing reports and statistics to support internal and external scholarships, for analysis and reimbursement reporting. Completes financial aid information forms for various outside foundations and external parties involved in grants and scholarships, per university and federal data sharing regulations. May identify trends, develop recommendations, and implement processes and procedures to improve scholarship areas. Assists university departments in resolving discrepancies and provides information on policies and procedures concerning scholarships. Assists with the creation and maintenance of the scholarship policy and procedures handbook. Determine eligibility of applicants for specific scholarships. Receive, evaluate, and verify student data for determining the student’s financial aid eligibility in a timely, accurate manner; Interview, advise, and counsel students who apply for financial assistance, in a factual, courteous, and professional manner; Assist students with identifying and applying for outside scholarships. Comply with federal, state and college policies and procedures and keep current of changing regulations applicable to each program. Review student academic progress appeals, collect data about students’ academic performance, evaluate and make a recommendation to the Director of Federal Student Aid Programs pertaining to continued eligibility. Conduct financial aid presentations to new students and to prospective students at college nights, new student orientation, etc.; Assist student with completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid ( FAFSA ). Perform other appropriate job-related duties as assigned. Identify additional financial resources available to students based on data available in students’ records and within college information system and adjust award packages as required. Provide centralized location for the publicizing and promoting scholarship opportunities. Serve as liaison to external scholarship entities and provide monthly status reports. Advise prospective and enrolled students, parents, and community members on all aspects of financial aid. Manage budget for scholarship funds. Collaborate with the Admissions department in the tracking of admissions and scholarships applications of new students. Chair scholarship committee. Review student requests for additional borrowing beyond their basic financial assistance package, use professional judgment standards to make recommendation to the Director. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Ability to effectively interact with individuals or groups; Oral and written communication skills; Ability to perform work in a confidential, ethical, and professional manner; Ability to work a flexible schedule. Ability to work under time constraints with interruptions. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree required. At least one-year federal student financial aid work experience preferred. Proven record of dependability and regular attendance.
