The University of Dayton invites qualified applicants to apply for our Executive Assistant to the Vice President and Coordinator of Marianist Events opening!
This person serves as Executive Assistant to the Vice President for Mission and Rector and is responsible for much of the daily operations of the Office. The assistant provides support as needed to others in the office, especially the Assistant Rector. The Assistant hires and supervises one or two student workers each semester. This person works with the Vice President in his work with the Marianist religious on campus and with the Provincial Administration of the Province of the United States. The Assistant is responsible for preparing the yearly event calendar of the Office and is the primary coordinator of Marianist events and meetings for faculty, staff and students. This position provides valued continuity and assessment of successful office functionality and plays a key role in the timely and professional execution of office events, from event inception through planning, completion and evaluation. The Assistant, in collaboration with the Vice President and the assigned budget manager, handles budget matters including purchasing on Runway and the office credit card. The assistant is also responsible for minutes for various meetings, including the Marianist Foundation and the Partnership for Service with the Catholic Church.
Minimum Qualifications:* Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (minimum of five years).
* Mastery of communication skills (verbal, written and interpersonal).
* Budgeting/financial, including some accounting and problem solving skills.
* Strong organizational skills and demonstrated proficiency in coordinating major events.
* Excellent technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products (especially Excel and Word) and Google mail.
* A clear understanding of the Marianist and Catholic identity and mission of the University and commitment in order to promote its presence on campus.
*Demonstrated initiative, dedication, and a strong work ethic.
*Discretion in handling confidential material.
Preferred Qualifications:While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:
A knowledge of the PCard, Runway, and Cognos systems and/or a demonstrated ability to learn quickly new software systems.
