The University of North Carolina at Greensboro’s Office of Military-Affiliated Services is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented School Certifying Official to support our mission of empowering veterans, active-duty service members, and their dependents. This position plays a vital role in ensuring military-affiliated students receive accurate, timely GI Bill education benefit certification while fostering a welcoming, supportive environment.

As the first point of contact for VA education benefits, the School Certifying Official verifies eligibility, processes VA and DoD certifications, and ensures compliance with federal, state, and university policies. The role also includes assisting with VA Work Study supervision, managing sensitive student records, and providing specialized customer service to students, families, faculty, and campus partners. Candidates should be comfortable navigating a variety of university and VA systems, maintaining strict data accuracy, and representing the office at events. Experience with military educational benefit certification is strongly preferred.
