School of Dentistry - Open Rank - Orthodontics

The University of Alabama at Birmingham, School of Dentistry, is accepting nominations and applications for a full-time tenure earning Clinical Scholar faculty position, in the Department of Orthodontics. The University of Alabama at Birmingham, School of Dentistry seeks faculty candidates with a demonstrated record of didactic and clinical teaching in orthodontics, as well as patient oriented research in orthodontics and basic science or translational/clinical research in the area of genetics of dental/craniofacial development.

Opportunities exist for Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor ranks. Academic rank, salary, and tenure status will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply online.

Required Qualifications:

Qualified candidates must have a DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited program, be board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics, and licensed or eligible for unrestricted licensure by the Board of Dental Examiners of Alabama. Candidates must also have a PhD and are expected to acquire external research funding over time. They should demonstrate a strong background in program administration, teaching and creativity in research and scholarship.
