Position Highlights
The Community Research, Evaluation and Development (CRED) team of the Norton School of Human Ecology is seeking a highly skilled analyst to support multiple community-engaged projects focused on young children, families, and broader social programs. The CRED team (https://norton.arizona.edu/cred) conducts high-quality, culturally responsive, community-based research and evaluation that promotes the health and well-being of families and individuals throughout Arizona and the Southwest.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with CRED team members and community partners across a portfolio of projects. Responsibilities include quantitative data analysis, creation of both interactive and static data visualizations, and assisting in the analytical synthesis of findings into text for public-facing reports. This position requires strong data management and analytical skills grounded in social science research and evaluation. Activities will include acquiring, managing, and analyzing small and large datasets; assisting in designing, executing, and interpreting statistical analyses; creating static and interactive data visualizations; drafting text summarizing and synthesizing key findings for lay audiences; and assisting in consulting on research and evaluation study designs with both CRED team members, college, division and community partners with a broad range of research experience. The successful candidate will bring excellent planning and communication skills, strong scientific writing experience, self-direction, and a commitment to community-oriented research.
This position supports a statewide project, with periodic overnight travel required across Arizona through June 2026.
This is an Extended Temporary Employment (ETE) position.

Duties & Responsibilities
- With moderate guidance, conduct appropriate summary and statistical analyses of large and small datasets, including both administrative and survey data.
- Collaborate with CRED team members, college, division and community partners on data visualization and interpretation.
- Under moderate guidance, prepare periodic reports, such as progress, status, results synthesis, evaluation, or other regular and special reports.
- Assist in presentations to lay audiences, including engaging via public presentations, to facilitate understanding of findings, gather feedback, and build a shared interpretation.
- Under moderate guidance, responsible for comprehensive data organization and documentation.
- Under moderate guidance, prepare interactive data dashboards, static data visuals, one-page data summaries, and other public-facing data products for internal and external use.
- Collaborate with and assist team members to adapt visualizations for specific reports and presentations.
- Under moderate guidance, develop and maintain databases and assist to create data acquisition and management plans for ongoing research and evaluation projects.
- Oversee access/delivery to data users, including faculty, staff, and students.
- Organize data and documentation with user-friendly structure.
- Manage data security and confidentiality protocols to ensure information remains secure.
- Provide technical assistance to CRED team staff and partners in accessing data from various databases and systems.
- Advise and assist in study design and evaluation planning.
- May supervise student workers.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of data management best practices, data structures and reproducible workflows.
- Ability to efficiently use statistical software (e.g., R, Python, Excel).
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to use ArcGIS or other geospatial analysis tools.
- Knowledge of grant writing, needs assessment, process evaluation, and outcomes research.
- Knowledge of social science research methods, program evaluation and/or outcomes research.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree.
- Three years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in public health, psychology, education, research methods, or a related social science field.
- 3 or more years of work experience in public health, psychology, education, or in a related social science field
- Experience conducting social science research, including literature reviews, human subjects/IRB protocols, and evaluation design (e.g., developing instruments, leading evaluation projects).
- Experience using R for data management and analysis, including wrangling skills (e.g., tidyverse, lubridate, or similar packages) and publishing skills (e.g., Shiny, Quarto, knitr).
- Experience with database and data structure design (e.g., REDCap, Access, AirTable) and reproducible programming methods (e.g., markdown, Jupyter notebooks).
