Skills/Qualifications
Higher education in the fields of Medical Sciences/ Biomedical Sciences.
Minimum 20 years of experience in research and academic activity in the field of neurosciences and/ or clinical neurophysiology, with demonstrated expertise in the investigation of neurobiological mechanisms of pain and in translational research of nociceptive mechanisms.
Specific Requirements
- demonstrated international experience in translational, experimental and clinical pain research, with the integration of neurobiological mechanisms identified in experimental models with results relevant to human pathology;
- demonstrated experience in the use of quantitative assessment methods of sensory sensitivity (Quantitative Sensory Testing - QST) and in the characterization of central and peripheral sensitization;
- author of at least 500 works (classified with the document type/document type article, review or proceedings paper), published in Science Citation Index Expanded journals;
- is/ was president/ member of at least two international scientific and professional societies of Neurosciences/ Pain/ Psychiatry;
- citations in specialized journals (excluding self-citations): minimum 10.000;
- Hirsch index (H-Index) from the Web of Science Core Collection: minimum 80.
