The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is a top-tier department with world-renowned faculty and staff and is seeking a Section Chief of Arthroplasty at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor to lead and oversee all clinical, educational, and research activities within the division. The Section Chief will be responsible for advancing the division's mission to provide exceptional patient care, cutting-edge research, and world-class education in arthroplasty. This leadership role requires a visionary who can foster a collaborative environment that supports innovation, excellence, and the professional development of faculty, staff, and trainees.
Essential Functions
- Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Division of Arthroplasty.
- Recruit, retain, and cultivate a collaborative and talented faculty team to expand the Division to increase surgical volume, enhance academic achievements, & foster development of cutting-edge techniques and technologies.
- Collaborate with departmental and institutional leadership to align the division's goals with the broader mission of COM and UC Health.
- Oversee the delivery of high-quality arthroplasty services, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
- Expand the outpatient arthroplasty program and build out a complimentary robotic arthroplasty program.
- Develop and implement evidence-based clinical protocols and best practices in arthroplasty including registry requirements.
- Lead the division's educational programs, including residency training in arthroplasty and update the resident curriculum for adult reconstruction and arthroplasty.
- Drive the division's research agenda, promoting innovative and impactful research in arthroplasty while collaborating with faculty in other departmental divisions.
- Secure extramural funding and support faculty in obtaining research grants and conducting high-quality research and assist in developing a clinical trials program for the division.
Minimum Requirements
- M.D., D.O. or foreign equivalent.
- Successful completion of an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency.
- Successful completion of an Adult Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship.
Additional Qualifications Considered
- A demonstratable record of success in academic achievement, with incrementally increased regional and national reputation.
- Final Rank will be commensurate with experience.
