Senior Administration Officer

Full time, fixed term opportunity for 12 months with extensions contingent on grant funding.

Exciting opportunity to work as a Senior Administration Officer at the University Centre for Rural Health in Lismore

Base Salary starting at $103,185 + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

The Senior Administration Officer plays a pivotal role in supporting effective business operations through the delivery of high-level administrative, governance and project support. This position oversees core administrative services, facilitates efficient systems and processes, and ensures compliance with organisational policies and standards.

The role contributes to strategic priorities by coordinating projects, managing information and reporting frameworks, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Success in this role requires strong organisational capability, sound judgement, and the ability to build productive relationships across diverse teams.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • manage general administrative services and operational support to the work area, including front office and reception functions
  • provide comprehensive administrative support and project management to project teams, working groups and organisational initiatives
  • manage records, digital content and reporting frameworks
  • develop and maintain local databases, registers, guidelines, workflows and ways of working, driving continuous improvement
  • undertake ad-hoc projects and perform duties appropriate to the classification level as required.
  • resolve complex matters with discretion, tact and diplomacy using sound knowledge of university policy and practice

About you

  • tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (including business administration), or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • demonstrated administrative experience within a tertiary education or similar complex environment
  • experience developing process maps, workflows, guidelines and processes and interpreting organisational policies
  • strong project coordination, event management and organisational skills
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach
  • advanced computer skills including in the Office suite, databases and AI tools
  • well-developed negotiation, relationship-building and influencing capability
  • ability to exercise initiative, critical thinking and sound judgement while managing competing priorities
  • demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and supporting system and process enhancements.
