Senior Campus Minister, Service, Justice, & Immersion

Xavier University, a Jesuit and Catholic institution, invites applications for the position of Senior Campus Minister for Service, Justice and Immersions. The Dorothy Day Center for Faith & Justice (CFJ) helps students deepen their faith lives, discover purpose and work for a better world. The Senior Campus Minister for Service, Justice and Immersions is responsible for planning service immersion trips and advising the student Alternative Breaks Board. As well as coordinating the Summer Service Internship Program. This position works as part of a team to further the Center’s mission and explores the intersections of faith and justice, in all their work. An active member of the Dorothy Day Center for Faith and Justice, this position is involved in departmental programs and represents the department across the university and in the local community.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: advise, and empower the student board for the Alternative Breaks program, manage logistics of multiple service immersion trips including training for student and staff leaders of alternative breaks. Run the Summer Service Internship program from strategic planning, participant recruitment, grant writing and maintaining relationships with community partners. Assist with the Center’s development of Service and Justice programming; represent the department in collaborative efforts across the university to enhance student learning. This position requires frequent work during nights and weekends.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in Theology, Social Work, Sociology, Higher Education or a related field preferred. Two years of professional experience in a related setting. Experience working as part of a team. Three to five years of experience in working with college-age student programs and familiarity with Ignatian spirituality and Jesuit education is preferred.
