Senior Content & Engagement Officer

Why your role matters

The Senior Content and Engagement Officer plays a key role in shaping and delivering a dynamic and engaging digital presence for DESE. Central to the role is leading the SharePoint Development project, ensuring the platform clearly communicates the Division’s purpose, priorities and portfolio structure while fostering a culture of collaboration, transparency and engagement across the University.

This position will enhance the profile and visibility of DESE by improving understanding of divisional teams, functions and services, while supporting seamless collaboration both within the Division and across the broader University community. The SharePoint platform will act as a key resource for faculties and divisions seeking to engage with DESE, providing accessible and up-to-date information on services, initiatives and current activities.

The role will also support the development of an internal-facing digital environment that empowers DESE staff through improved communication, information sharing and collaboration.

Reporting to the Director, Operations, the Senior Content and Engagement Officer operates as an individual contributor with no direct reports. The role will also work very closely with the Head of Stakeholder Relations.

Specific accountabilities include:

  • Lead the end-to-end project management of the design and delivery of a user-centred internal SharePoint site for the Division of Education and Student Experience, ensuring outcomes are delivered on time, within scope , and aligned to divisional priorities.
  • Shape and evolve the Division’s approach to SharePoint by providing strategic advice, insight and influence on information architecture, content governance and engagement practices, enabling the site to continuously improve and support how the Division communicates, collaborates and works.
  • Lead project communications by engaging divisional stakeholders, developing clear, accessible and engaging content that explains divisional teams, portfolio areas, roles and areas of responsibility, and ensuring effective information flow throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with divisional leadership and portfolio teams to translate complex organisational information into intuitive digital content and visual structures, using project management methodologies to coordinate tasks, timelines and deliverables.

About You:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing SharePoint sites or similar enterprise content platforms.
  • Strong content design, digital storytelling and stakeholder-centred communication skills.
  • Proven ability to synthesise organisational structures and strategies into clear and engaging online content.
  • Experience working collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including senior leaders.
  • Sound understanding of accessibility standards and user-experience principles.
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
