About the role:

The Senior Coordinator, Critical Incident Prevention & Planning leads proactive initiatives to strengthen organisational resilience and prevent critical incidents, while supporting strategic priorities across critical incident management, preparedness, gender-based violence primary prevention, and inclusion programs. Working closely with stakeholders across prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery, the role recognises that effective incident management is an ongoing, whole-of-organisation process. The position focuses on identifying risks, developing strong response plans, equipping teams with practical tools, and using incident data to drive continuous improvement.

As a Senior Coordinator, Critical Incident Prevention & Planning, you will:

  • Develop and implement proactive strategies to enhance resilience by identifying potential risks, preparing robust response plans, empowering teams with efficient tools, and leveraging incident data for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with key partners and stakeholders to integrate preventative measures into broader initiatives, projects and programs.
  • Work with the Lead and team members to design and deliver educational programs, workshops, and training sessions focused on preventing critical incidents and support training across the Incident, Prevention and Education Team.
  • Undertake continuous monitoring, stakeholder management, and intelligence gathering to assess and mitigate risks before they escalate. Share pertinent information with internal and external Executive stakeholders to inform proactive critical incident response and build organisational resilience    

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training (social work, education, public health, behavioural science, psychology)
  • Experience in critical incident management, prevention, response, or a related field, such as risk management, crisis intervention, or conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering educational programs, workshops, or training related to inclusion, safety, or well-being.
  • Experience in managing and coordinating projects or initiatives, particularly those aimed at enhancing safety, equity, and inclusion.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant regulations, frameworks and methodologies
