About the Role The Swinburne University Cyber Security team is looking for a Senior Cyber Security Specialist to join their team. The Senior Cyber Security Specialist plays a key role in protecting the digital environment at Swinburne University of Technology by ensuring systems and applications meet strong cyber security standards. The role contributes directly to the Cyber Security team’s mission by identifying and addressing threats, vulnerabilities, and control gaps to strengthen the University’s overall cyber maturity. Working collaboratively with IT teams, project stakeholders, and external partners, the position supports the delivery of secure, sustainable technology solutions aligned with strategic priorities. Through this work, the role helps enable resilient technologies that support a safe, innovative experience for students and staff and contribute to the University’s Strategic Plan. 

About You To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: 

• Proven specialised experience across technologies such as Microsoft Azure sentinel and similar platforms / applications.
• Demonstrated knowledge of on prem and cloud security standards and/or secure architectural frameworks.
• Experience with security frameworks and controls such as the NIST CSF, the ASD Essential 8, ISO 27001/2 and CIS controls.
• Hands-on administrative experience on various security technologies and implementation.

Qualifications Relevant cyber security certifications and/or qualifications (or demonstration of progression towards) eg. CISSP, CCSP, or certifications related to AWS, Azure security
