Senior Data Scientist
Job Description Summary
The Senior Data Scientist advances research and clinical innovation in limb optimization, osseointegration, and bone health. This role applies expertise in data science, biomechanics, and medical imaging to analyze complex datasets that support improved implant integration, limb alignment strategies, and long-term skeletal health. The individual collaborates closely with surgeons, biomechanical engineers, rehabilitation specialists, and clinical research teams to develop data-driven insights that enhance functional outcomes for patients undergoing advanced limb reconstruction.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement statistical, predictive, and machine learning models to support osseointegration outcomes, limb optimization procedures, and bone-quality assessments.
- Analyze multimodal datasets including radiographs, CT imaging, gait analysis, prosthetic sensor data, and bone-density measurements.
- Build robust data pipelines for longitudinal monitoring of bone remodeling, implant stability, soft‑tissue adaptation, and functional recovery over time conduct quantitative assessments of bone health indicators, osseointegration progression, and biomechanical stress patterns around implanted components.
- Create interactive dashboards, visualizations, and reports to support clinical decision‑making and research planning.
- Partner with surgeons and clinical teams to translate analytical findings into surgical planning tools, patient‑specific models, and optimized post‑operative rehabilitation protocols.
- Contribute to scientific manuscripts, research presentations, grant submissions, and regulatory documentation.
- Maintain high standards of data integrity, security, and compliance with institutional and federal research requirements.
- Provide mentorship and technical expertise to junior analysts, research staff, and trainees.
Qualifications
Master of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Ph.D. preferred.
This position is contingent upon grant funding.
