Senior Edit/Media Specialist (Senior Digital Content Specialist)

Position Summary:

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Edit/Media Specialist (Senior Digital Content Specialist) for Rutgers University Libraries. This position reports to the Director of Communications and Marketing and plays a key role in creating and managing web and social media content for Rutgers University Libraries.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

• Supports department operations, project management, assessment, and campaign oversight.
• Develops, edits, organizes, and maintains content for libraries.rutgers.edu, the Libraries staff site, and other assigned digital platforms.
• Ensures all content aligns with the Libraries' marketing and communications plan, follows best practices, and is user-friendly, cohesive, and accessible.
• Tests webpages for functionality, information architecture, and usability.
• Collaborates with the Director of Communications and Marketing, the Vice President for University Libraries, and technical teams to establish and analyze website metrics.
• Creates and manages content for system-wide social media channels.
• Oversees social media content scheduling and monitoring, fostering coordinated efforts across the Libraries and university, and exploring innovative content formats and strategies aligned with emerging trends.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, digital design, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of website and social media content creation.
• Five (5) years of relevant experience.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs.

Special Conditions:

Content creation will sometimes require traveling to the various library locations.

Must be able and willing to travel to all Rutgers campus locations.
