Job Description:

Reporting to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Senior Executive Director of Business Relations and Workforce Strategies is responsible for effective planning, vision, and leadership for the assigned strategic plan tactics and academic plan initiatives. The Senior Executive Director will provide oversight and coordination for workforce development initiatives, The Aims Workforce Innovation Center and related Innovation Laboratory projects, and effective operation of the satellite campuses with a focus on developing and enhancing strong partnerships with the industries, businesses, and communities we serve. Continuing education, The American Heart Association Training Center, and CDL also fall within the purview of the satellite campuses and this position. The Senior Executive Director may also represent Aims Community College at state and local meetings. Occasional travel is required.
- Coordination of Academic Affairs Operations including Satellite Campuses: 45%
- Plans and implements assigned Academic Affairs strategic plan and Academic Plan initiatives and other key Academic Affairs projects.
- Leads the development and implementation of Academic Affairs standard operating processes (SOP's), and policy reformation process and procedures.
- Ensure satellite campuses have the resources, structure, and support to provide services to students, programs, and the communities served.
- Supervises Executive Campus Directors, Executive Director, Corporate Solutions and Staff Executive which includes, but is not limited too; recommendations on hiring/terminations, performance evaluations, leave & time approvals, reviewing & assigning work, etc...
- Utilizes surveys/assessments and makes improvements based on results.
- Attends college/community/statewide meetings to support academic areas.
- Attends Advisory Committee meetings for programs (as needed).
- Leads the development of budgets and coordinates oversight of areas of responsibility within academic affairs fiscal matters. Serves as Cost Center Manager for respective areas.
- Provides advice and/or recommendations pertinent to areas of expertise.
- Serves as a resource for college departments.
- Responds to complicated and/or sensitive/confidential inquiries and situations relative to the work of the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
- Represent Aims Community College at state and local meetings.
- Workforce Development & Innovation: 50%
- Directs the workforce development strategic and operational community planning and initiatives at the college and collaborates with college leadership to ensure meaningful linkage among planning, budgeting, and documentation of workforce relationships and the institution's effectiveness in expanding these relationships and meeting these needs.
- Provides leadership and support to the Aims Workforce Innovation Center and associated Innovation Laboratory and projects.
- Builds growth in workforce development and continuing education; develops strategic public, private and governmental partnerships to capitalize on new and emerging opportunities and markets trends.
- Develop and maintain a revenue generating workforce development entity that serves the needs of businesses and industries of northern Colorado.
- Provide leadership to develop regional workforce strategic needs and effective partnerships among the local workforce leadership, governmental leaders and agencies, trade associations, economic development agencies, and community-based organizations to provide quality training/retraining programs.
- Designs, develops and implements community strategic and operational planning activities that will expand the college's external community stakeholder relationships and programming to increase enrollment in training markets that align with regional economic growth.
- In conjunction with college leadership, manages and supervises aspects of external community relationships and community stakeholders; executes improved community relationships, and community accountability and functionality.
- Develops processes to determine institutional effectiveness related to community relationships, provides leadership in documenting how the college makes a positive difference for students and in the collective community.
- Supervises Executive Director, Corporate Solutions and other associated positions with Aims Workforce Innovation Center which includes, but is not limited too; recommendations on hiring/terminations, performance evaluations, leave & time approvals, reviewing & assigning work, etc...

Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate Degree in a related field such as Higher Education Administration or Non-profit Administration or other related field; plus, Five (5) years senior level leadership and supervisory experience in higher education and/or other relevant public sector organization related to the duties, roles and responsibilities outlined in this profile, or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
- Previous experience must include a successful record of overseeing multiple departments/divisions, budgets, personnel, and other appropriate administrative duties.
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial and innovative skillset applied to public and/or private sector initiatives.
- Higher education experience.
- Experience working with business and/or government entities to collaborate on common goals.
- Demonstrates passion for student success and the community college mission.
- Successful experience working in a diverse and multicultural community.

Preferred Qualifications:
