Senior Facilities Support Assistant
About the Role
As a Senior Facilities Support Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our buildings operate efficiently, safely, and to the highest standard. You will coordinate the work of Facilities Support Assistants and cleaning staff, supervise contractors when necessary, and support the smooth delivery of lectures, conferences, and high-profile events.
You will take a proactive approach to day-to-day maintenance and site management, including minor repairs, security, and health and safety oversight. Your role is essential in creating a welcoming, safe, and well-maintained environment for all building users.
This role offers the opportunity to develop leadership and operational skills while being involved in diverse, high-impact activities that make a tangible difference to the University’s operations and reputation.
About You
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- Practical, hands-on experience with DIY, maintenance, or minor repairs, combined with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- IT literacy, including email, internet use, and the ability to learn bespoke building control systems.
- Reliable and professional in appearance and conduct, with excellent timekeeping.

£28,437 - £32,108 per annum

The Facilities Management (FM) Team ensures the smooth running, safety, and security of University buildings, supporting world-class teaching, research, and events.
