The Accessibility & Disability Resource Centre (ADRC) invites applications for a Senior Neurodiversity Adviser. This is a 2-year fixed-term role covering the secondment of the current post-holder.

The Senior Neurodiversity Adviser will manage the essential assessment, guidance and advisory service provided to neurodiverse students by the University's Accessibility & Disability Resource Centre. The post-holder will work closely with the Head of the ADRC on the management of policies and procedures relating to support for neurodiverse students across the University.

You will manage the Neurodiversity Advisory team and the Foundation Year Adviser, comprising 5 members of staff, who provide specialist advice, guidance and support to current and prospective neurodiverse students and staff who support these students. You will also work closely with academic and support staff within university departments and institutions as well as with other professional services staff within the University's Student Services Centre. The post-holder will report to the Head of the ADRC and will be part of the ADRC Senior Management team.

You will be qualified at degree level (or have equivalent relevant experience). A post-graduate Diploma qualification in assessing and supporting specific learning difficulties, and current PATOSS accreditation (practising certificate), or an Autism specific qualification at Post-Graduate Level is essential for the role. Membership of a relevant professional body (such as NADP) at Senior Accredited Member level would be desirable. You should have recent relevant experience of advising neurodiverse students in a higher education setting and experience of management of a neurodiversity advisory team in an educational setting.

You will need excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, experiences and expectations, demonstrating a commitment to equality of opportunity. The ability to work to deadlines in a busy support service environment is essential.
