About the Team: The People & Culture Systems Team is a service‑focused group, dedicated to delivering modern, efficient, and strategically aligned HR technology solutions that support the University’s workforce and operational plans. Working closely with colleagues across P&C, Digital Campus Services, and broader University departments, the team drives system improvements, and process optimisation to enable effective decision‑making and a seamless user experience. With responsibility for implementing the HR technology roadmap, enhancing Oracle HCM and related systems, and providing high‑quality support, the team plays a central role in ensuring VU’s people systems are reliable, innovative, and aligned with the organisation’s operational plans.
About the Role:
The Senior P&C Systems Officer plays a key role in enhancing, maintaining, and supporting Victoria University’s Oracle HCM and related people systems, ensuring they operate smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with organisational needs. Position Key Duties - Support, maintain, and enhance Oracle HCM functionality to improve system performance, usability, and alignment with organisational needs.
- Collaborate with P&C, IT, and other stakeholders to gather business requirements and ensure system developments meet operational objectives.
- Lead system testing activities, validating upgrades, enhancements, and new features prior to deployment.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for P&C system users, resolving issues with minimal disruption to business operations.
- Drive process improvement and system automation, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.
- Develop, maintain, and document system processes while ensuring effective communication of changes to relevant stakeholders.
- Produce and manage complex reports and dashboards using Oracle HCM and related systems, ensuring high data accuracy and integrity.
- Support ongoing system maintenance and upgrades, including Oracle HCM and AscenderPay, coordinating with internal teams to ensure smooth implementation.
Salary: HEP 7 - $101,288 - $109,639 – Plus 17% Super
Employment Type: Full Time – Ongoing
Hours: 36.75/1 FTE
Location: Footscray Park Campus – 3 days on site.

About You: - You bring strong experience with Oracle HCM and HR technology platforms, with the ability to troubleshoot, optimise, and enhance system functionality.
- You are a problem solver, comfortable analysing complex issues, managing data integrity, and producing meaningful reports and insights.
- You work collaboratively across teams, displaying excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and customer‑focused support skills.
- You thrive in environments that value process improvement, automation, and continuous enhancement, proactively identifying opportunities to streamline and elevate system performance.
