The Ethox Centre is an internationally-recognised multidisciplinary bioethics research centre located within the Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH) at the University of Oxford. It is situated in the Big Data Institute on the University’s Old Road Campus. NDPH contains world renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching. The Ethox Centre’s global health bioethics research is undertaken in collaboration with a wide range of international partners through the Global Health Bioethics Network, the Oxford-Johns Hopkins Global Infectious Disease Collaborative (GLIDE), and The Pandemic Sciences Institute.
We are looking for a Senior Researcher in Environmental Ethics and Climate Justice in Global Health. Working closely with the team at the Pandemic Sciences Institute, and with the Ethox Centre’s many global health bioethics partners, the post holder will be a member of the Ethox Centre and will have significant and specific responsibility for undertaking collaborative research on environmental ethics and climate justice in global health.
To be considered, you will hold a PhD/DPhil in environmental ethics, political philosophy, bioethics or closely related field, significant relevant research experience and sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work effectively within the research programme as outlined in the role description.
This is a full time, fixed term post (part time considered) for 3 years. The closing date for applications is noon on 25th March 2026.
