Job Summary

The Senior Security Officer is responsible for college safety and security. Their primary duty is to be the caretakers of the college community while leading a squad of officers or working independently. The Senior Security Officer is charged with the protection of life, property and maintaining order through the enforcement of applicable college, municipal, state, and federal regulations. The Senior Security Officer acts to coach and guide the college community and uses their enforcement authority when necessary. The Senior Security Officer is the lead officer of their squad and provides training and direction as needed.

Qualifications - Experience

The candidate must have a minimum experience of two years in this discipline. As a part of the CCM first responder group, it is highly desirable that the Senior Security Officer have prior experience as a first responder (fire/police/security/ EMS / HAZ - MAT or similar).

Qualifications - Skills

Must have strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills and strong computer literacy. Must be able to multi-task and perform in-person customer service functions in a professional manner. Must remain calm under pressure and present a polite and professional demeanor. Must possess a valid Drivers License.

Work Hours

The Department of Public Safety is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Members are assigned to all shifts and are required to work a fair and equal share of overtime. This assignment is for the midnight shift.
