Senior Technical Officer - Health

About the position

Reporting to the Cluster Lead (Health) within Facilities and Technical Services, this position is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and management of laboratory support services within the Sport and Exercise Science Discipline at the Bundoora Campus. The role ensures the efficient delivery of teaching activities in full compliance with Health & Safety and other relevant regulatory requirements.

Key duties include the preparation, setup, and pack-down of laboratory equipment for classes, along with managing ad hoc scheduling requests and ensuring the accurate coordination of timetabled activities. The position also involves inducting staff into laboratory procedures, supporting teaching staff in the use of equipment, monitoring stock levels, and coordinating the ordering of equipment and consumables.

This role supports the undergraduate laboratory practical classes and therefore the successful applicant will need to be available to work 7 hrs 15 mins, between the hours of 7.30am and 7.30pm. This will be rostered on a rotational basis.
