Job Summary
Collaborates with customers to understand their signage needs and preferences. Design and create custom signs using a variety of materials and techniques, fabricate signs using tools and equipment in workshop. Install signs at customer locations with attention to detail and precision. Mange multiple projects simultaneously to ensure timely completion. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.
Responsibilities
The job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Under limited supervision, develops layouts, fabricates, installs, or repairs interior and exterior signage and other identification or directional messaging devices. Assignments are performed in accordance with AU signage standards and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or GED from a recognized State or Federal accredited organization with four years experience. Valid driver's license.
Other Required Qualifications
Moderate level of knowledge in sign making, carpentry, and general construction skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Other Preferred Qualifications
A degree from an accredited college or university in graphic design, fine arts, or design and visual communication.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
Ability to interpret ADA guidelines relating to signage and ability to interact and communicate well with others.
KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of graphic design, sign making trade and building construction.
SKILLS
Skills using sign making equipment and sign related computer software for the design and layout of signage.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F
Pay Band: 6
Salary Minimum: $18.85/hour
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position

Conditions of Employment
All selected candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting with Augusta University.
If applicable for the specific position based on the duties: the candidate will also need to have a credit check completed for Positions of Trust and or approved departmental Purchase Card usage.
Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that are required to drive an Augusta University vehicle.
For Faculty Hires: Final candidates will be required to provide proof of completed academic degree(s) as well as post-secondary coursework in the form of original transcript(s). Those candidates trained by a foreign institution will also be required to provide an educational/credential evaluation.

Driver's License Statement
The Human Resources Division will request a driver's history report for the identified top candidate(s) for this position. We will initiate this through our Background Check Vendor; this report will come from the Department of Motor Vehicles. The selected candidate must have a valid driver's license.
