Position Purpose:

The successful candidate will be part of a skilled trades team responsible for campus-wide maintenance activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Electrical journeyman's card or Master Electrician License from the State of Michigan and proof of six years of continuing job related experience dealing specifically with a variety of commercial, industrial and residential electrical systems.
• Candidate must also possess a working knowledge of other skilled trades including plumbing and mechanical installations as these may impact electrical installations and repairs.
• Ability to interpret building schematics as they apply to electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ability to repair equipment in a professional manner.
• Ability to work without supervision.
• Ability to perform work requiring frequent standing, reaching, walking, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing on a ladder and lifting in order to perform various electrical maintenance and repair tasks; frequent lifting requiring the execution of up to sixty pounds to move and use tools, equipment, and the application of electrical procedures.
• Valid vehicle operator's license and a driving record acceptable for coverage by the university's insurance carrier.
• Successful verification of above requirements through reference checks.

Desired Qualifications:

• State of Michigan Master Electrician License.
