Location: Headington Campus, Marston Rd, Oxford (with occasional travel to Swindon)
The Role
The Skills Coach (Nursing Degree Apprenticeships) will play a pivotal role in supporting the development of the Nursing Degree Apprenticeships in partnership with key stakeholders at Oxford Brookes University.
This fixed-term role is based at our Headington Campus, Marston Rd, with occasional travel to our Swindon campus. You will report to the Head of the Oxford School of Nursing and Midwifery.
What Will I Be Doing?
As the Skills Coach you will:
- Tutor and coach apprentices.
- Engage strongly with employers.
- Enhance engagement with the programme.
- Demonstrate impact of learning in the workplace.
- Monitor performance and maximise achievement.
- Ensure quality assurance processes.
Which Skills Do I Need?
- Previous experience as tutor/skills coach, in a vocational setting, preferably with apprenticeships.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Proficient in a range of software applications (Google, Microsoft Office, Virtual Learning Environment).
- An attention to detail including an ability to manage detailed administrative processes and keep accurate records.
- Ability to develop own teaching materials and contribute to course and programme development.
- Understanding of educational compliance- and quality assurance processes.
- Excellent planning, organising and prioritising skills.
- Ability to problem solve and find solutions.
- Project management experience, including managing complex stakeholder environments.
- A positive, solution-focused approach.
- Confidence to act as a credible and professional representative of the University to external stakeholders.
About the location
Based at our Headington campus, Marston Rd, you’ll experience the vibrant campus atmosphere and benefit from our modern office environment. The campus is one mile from the centre of Oxford and is served by regular public transport. This role will be hybrid and we expect there will be a requirement to be on campus 1-2 days per week.
