Ngā kōrero mō te tūranga – About the role
We are looking for a digital marketing enthusiast who is results driven and customer focused to complement our Sport and Wellbeing team. This role will require excellent marketing skills and real social media know-how to continue growing engagement with students and the wider community. It will also include general marketing responsibilities alongside content creation.
Salary will be in the range of $71,275 to $84,695 per year based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position. This is a part-time role (30 hours a week), 6 months fixed term, based on our Hillcrest Campus.

Ko wai koe? – Who are you?
You will have experience in a social media, marketing or digital-focused role, with the ability to plan, create and manage high-quality social media content. You’ll be audience-first and brand-driven, with a strong commitment to producing engaging, on-trend content.
You’ll work predominantly in the health and fitness space, looking after a range of marketing assets for UniRec, the gym on campus at the University of Waikato. As a content creator, storyteller and brand advocate, you will inspire and engage our community through your creative eye and understanding of social platforms.
You will have a relevant tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, digital media or a related field (or equivalent experience), with a minimum of 2–3 years’ experience working in social media. Strong communication skills, platform knowledge, adobe suite experience and confidence using social media scheduling and analytics tools are essential.
