The Computer Science Department (CSD) is one of the seven academic departments in the Carnegie Mellon School of Computer Science (SCS). Our environment is demanding and fast-paced, but it's also innovative, flexible, and highly collaborative. We are looking for a Software Engineer to work on an Agentic AI project for document understanding, especially in the legal domain.

Core Responsibilities

• Working with databases and software development
• Machine learning and AI model development (LLM)
• Collect, verify and manage data
• Data analysis
• Gather input for functional specifications and requirements
• Maintain technical documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Experience with data collection, analysis and research methods
• Good experience with machine learning
• Experience with LLM's and/or AI models
• Experience with cloud deployments and databases.
• A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
