The Assistant to the Head Coach, reporting to the Anne and Tony Joseph Director of Men’s Basketball (“Head Coach”), will administer, support, and manage the day-to-day functions of the Men’s Basketball program as directed by the Head Coach. This is a fixed-term role ending on April 30, 2026.
CORE DUTIES:
- Player Development & Performance Tracking: Track individual and team shooting metrics; Maintain and analyze offensive hustle stats; Manage and update advanced statistical databases, including +/- analysis
- Scouting Coordination: Assign scouting responsibilities; Organize and manage the advanced scouting process
- Video Operations Support: Support practice video setup and capture; Assist with recruiting presentations and highlight packages; Coordinate video exchange and Zoom film sessions; Lead special video projects in collaboration with coaching staff; Provide player-specific film support; Lead recruitment, onboarding, and management of undergraduate student managers
- Assist in the execution of Individual Camp, Elite Camp, and Team Camp
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated ability to prioritize own work and multi-task; Demonstrated excellent organizational skills; Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of projects; Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; Ability to routinely and independently exercise sound judgment in making decisions; Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team; Relevant subject matter knowledge; Ability to direct the work of others, for jobs requiring supervision.
Certifications and Licenses: None
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks; Frequently stand/walk, sitting, grasp lightly/fine manipulation; Occasionally use a telephone; Rarely lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 11-20 pounds.
DAPER’s Integrity: This position, along with all DAPER coaches and staff, is responsible for the integrity of Stanford’s intercollegiate athletics program, recreation and wellness department, and for the reputation of Stanford University. This position is responsible for ensuring that your involvement with DAPER activities maintains the integrity of the University’s reputation and does not negatively impact the relationship between the University and its faculty, staff, students, and alumni. Additionally, this position must comply with University policies and procedures, NCAA, and conference rules and regulations.
The expected pay range for this position is $99,015-$100,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
