We invite passionate and innovative individuals to join our mission-driven team, where you can enjoy a fulfilling work-life balance and competitive benefits, including a robust pension plan. The Audiovisual Technology Support Specialist provides institution‑wide support for all classroom, meeting, and event spaces across the college. The position is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading audiovisual systems including projectors, displays, microphones, speakers, cameras, control processors, DSPs, and streaming and recording solutions. The specialist works closely with ITS teams, facilities department, and third‑party vendors to scope and review AV designs, coordinate installations, validate system performance, and ensure that technology standards are met across all campuses.
This role supports a large inventory of instructional and event spaces and ensures that faculty, staff, students, and campus guests experience reliable, high‑quality audiovisual services. The specialist provides in‑person and remote support; assists with the planning, setup, operation, and teardown for live events; and resolves issues quickly in high‑visibility environments. Because many campus events occur outside standard business hours, the position requires flexibility for evening, weekend, and occasional holiday assignments.
The specialist also trains end users on AV equipment, develops and maintains system documentation, manages equipment inventory, and contributes to the long‑term planning and lifecycle replacement of AV technologies. Through collaboration and technical expertise, this role helps the college deliver effective instruction, events, and presentations across all college locations.
Education Required:
- Associate's degree in audiovisual technology, information technology, multimedia, communications technology, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution.
- Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible audiovisual support experience in lieu of degree.
Experience Required:
- Two (2) years of hands‑on experience supporting audiovisual systems in classrooms, meeting rooms, or event environments.
- Demonstrated experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting projectors, displays, microphones, speakers, audio DSPs, cameras, control systems, and streaming or recording solutions.
- Experience supporting live events, including operating mixers, microphones, signal routing, and basic lighting.
- Experience coordinating with external vendors for repairs, equipment procurement, or system installations.
Experience Preferred:
- Three (3) to five (5) years of audiovisual support experience, preferably in higher education or large multi‑site environments.
- Experience with Crestron, Extron, AMX, Q‑SYS, Biamp, or similar control and DSP platforms.
- Experience participating in AV room design, equipment specification, or technology standardization projects.
- Experience supporting streaming platforms, lecture capture systems, and hybrid instruction environments.
- Experience developing or maintaining AV documentation, including wiring diagrams, rack layouts, and equipment inventories.
- Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) software and Remote Support software.
