Job Summary:

Reporting to the assigned campus leader, this role coordinates all aspects of the student employment program from recruitment and onboarding to off-boarding. This individual works collaboratively with all College offices involved in student employment including Career Services, Financial Aid, and Human Resources, as well as hiring supervisors in offices across Tarrant County College District. As a key member of the Career Services, this individual also provides direct service and support to students in a wide range of career development and job readiness activities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Performance Requirements
• Manages on-campus student employment vacancy, recruitment, and hiring processes using an applicant tracking system and revises job descriptions as needed in partnership with the Office of Human Resources
• Provides guidance and direction to hiring supervisors and administrative staff in the handling of student staffing employment processes, including training documentation, approval, implementation, and communication
• Communicates with students and hiring supervisors, as needed, to ensure verification information is submitted timely through phone, email, online portals, or other forms
• Develops and provides hiring supervisors with guidelines, policies, and procedures for all aspects of student employment including federal work-study program and non-citizen students, excluding workers compensation
• Works collaboratively and strategically to develop and implement student employment recruitment campaigns on campus and across the College
• Provides direct career development and job readiness support, programs, and services to students
• Works closely with the Financial Aid Office to ensure that Federal and State guidelines for work study programs are being followed
• Communicates Federal, State, and College policies, guidelines and procedures and ensures compliance with them by hiring supervisors, supervisors, and students

Service Excellence
• Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
• Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through the Tarrant County College (TCC) Institute
• Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College

Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the assigned campus leader

Required Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or 60 college credits and three (3) years' working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements, or any equivalent combination of education and work-related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• Degree in higher education, counseling, human resources, or related field
• At least one (1) year's experience working in job development, human resources, job placement, advising, student employment, career services, workforce development services, or related field
• At least one (1) year's experience working in a community college environment related to the Essential Performance Requirements
• At least one (1) year's experience supervising (e.g., managing, evaluating the performance of others)
• At least one (1) year's working experience in customer service environment with presentation and project management responsibilities
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) written and verbal fluency

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills (including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment
• Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
• Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
• Ability to delegate work appropriately to faculty and staff to meet College and campus deliverables

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
