Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual and group counseling and psychotherapy with students who seek assistance with a broad range of mental and emotional problems.
- Provide clinical consultation and initial assessment to students initiating services at CAPS.
- Lead psychoeducational workshops for students.
- Respond to psychological emergencies or crisis situations requiring immediate intervention (e.g. suicidal behavior, student death or injury).
- Administer and interpret individual psychological tests, personality inventories, and/or vocational interest inventories.
- Provide outreach and psychoeducational programming services to students on topics related to mental health.
- Facilitate and support training seminars for trainees, students, faculty and staff
Minimum Experience / Education:
Master's degree in social work or counseling or closely related fields. Two or more years of experience in the evaluation and treatment of individuals whose age and psychological development is similar to traditional and non-traditional college students. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
Strong clinical skills, interest and experience providing psychotherapy a young adult/college student population.
