"Statewide Medical Director UCHC"

Rutgers University Correctional Health Care is seeking a UCHC Medical Director Statewide, located in Trenton, NJ. The Medical Director is responsible for managing the provision of medical services to inmates of the Department of Corrections (DOC) and other UCHC forensic contracts, which are consistent with community standards of care. Promotes a culture that is patient-centered and embraces the values of Rutgers Health. Manages overall clinical and teaching responsibilities for University Correctional Health Care and directly supervises the UCHC Associate Medical Director, Supervising Physicians, Infectious Disease Physician, Infection Control Registered Nurse, and Utilization Management Coordinator(s). Ensures the provision of clinical service at all of the sites. Serves as a liaison for clinical matters to the DOC, other medical providers and hospitals outside the system, and is available to provide on-call services. Demonstrates competency in recognizing the unique needs and applying relevant medical treatment approaches for adult inmates, ages 19-65+.

Duties include:

• Provides overall clinical leadership that includes medical evaluations, treatment planning and treatment to inmates within University Correctional HealthCare
• Administers the medical staff and effectively manages the interface with other disciplines and with other departments and divisions within Rutgers and with the New Jersey Department of Corrections and other forensic contracts
