Strategic Student Initiatives Mentor
Class Description
The purpose of this position is to provide high-quality mentoring and career guidance to Strategic Student Initiatives participants.
Minimum Requirements
A bachelor's degree and one year of successful experience working with collegiate-level programs fostering retention are required. Demonstrated success working in higher education with diverse student populations. Must have experience working with adult learners providing mentoring, instruction, advising, or academic support services.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday | 4.5 to 5 Hours between 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
19.5 hours per weekEvenings and weekends as needed
Class Specific Essential Duties
- Recruitment and Placement: Recruit students, manage the application and selection process, and place interns in suitable positions.
- Intern Support and Guidance: Provide support to interns throughout their experience, including conducting orientations, offering career coaching, and organizing skill-building workshops and events.
- Relationship Management: Serve as a liaison between students, departments, and internship employers, and collaborate with internal departments to facilitate effective communication and coordination.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Track intern performance, assess the program's success, and provide feedback.
- Administration and Reporting: Maintain databases and program materials, ensure compliance with regulations, create policies and procedures, and prepare reports on program progress.
