About the Role:
Student Advisors play a pivotal role in supporting our students at Victoria University. as the first point of contact for current and future student enquires, you will be supporting our students to navigate university systems and processes, their personal and academic goals, and setting them up to get the most out of their student experience.
In this role you will work 100% on campus, closely with our Advisory teams, Student Administration and college staff to support domestic, international, TAFE and higher education students. Our Service Centres are across multiple campuses in the west.
Salary: HEP 5 $79,135 - $90,899 per annum + 17% employer superannuation
Employment Type: Full time, Fixed Term until March 2027
Hours: 36.75 per week

Position Details:
As a Student Advisor, you will provide high-quality, student-centred support as the first point of contact for current and prospective students. Working within a dynamic service environment, you will deliver accurate advice, guidance and referrals to support students in navigating their academic journey and university processes.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
Provide timely, accurate and professional advice on enrolment, admissions, fees, course progression, scholarships and student systems.
Deliver first-contact resolution and case management of student enquiries, complaints and complex matters.
Support students using a consultative and developmental approach to build independence and self-management skills.
Refer students to relevant support services, programs and resources as required.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of advice, actions and case outcomes.
Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying trends in student experience and service delivery.
Collaborate effectively with academic and professional staff to deliver a seamless student experience.
Ensure all advice and services align with University policies, procedures and customer service standards.

You will:
Deliver exceptional customer service with a genuine focus on student experience
Have experience in customer service roles and record management systems (preferably within student services)
Collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to provide high-quality student support
Remain calm, organised, and resilient in busy or high-pressure situations
Proactively identify and resolve issues, escalating where appropriate
Work confidently both autonomously and as part of a collaborative team
The University is a Child Safe organisation. You will be required to hold a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or be willing to obtain one prior to commencing employment.
