Duties/Responsibilities

Horticultural crop care like potting, transplanting, trellising, pest monitoring (no spraying required), manual pollination’s and data recording. (Percentage of time: 75)

Lab work involving fruit quality analyses, data entry, seed processing and cataloging. (Percentage of time: 25)

Classification Title: Student Assistant

FLSA: Non-Exempt

FTE: 0.50

Position Summary: This position will help with all aspects of Dr. Ogden’s CEA breeding program. This will involve a combination of greenhouse, lab, and field work.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification: Extensive horticultural skills and lab experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Basic horticultural skills are required for this position.

Physical Demands: Working in hot and humid greenhouse. Heavy lifting up to 50 pounds maximum rarely. Bending over to provide crop care. Driving.
