Student Financial Aid (SFA) Buckeye Link Consultant
Job Description
The Buckeye Link Consultant for Student Financial Aid (SFA) within the Office of Strategic Enrollment Management (OSEM) will support both Student Financial Aid and Buckeye Link by serving as a high level resource on student financial aid issues for staff, especially those in Buckeye Link. Provides third level tier support within Buckeye Link for escalated cases with student accounts. Works closely with Buckeye Link to research and resolve complex cases. Assists Buckeye Link staff with providing in depth counseling to students and families on financial aid issues. Empowered to make decisions in cases involving professional judgment to provide students with additional financial aid resources. Maintains thorough knowledge of SFA policies and procedures and works closely with Buckeye Link staff to assist with their understanding of these policies and procedures. Serves as the liaison between SFA and Buckeye Link staff to ensure that both areas area aware of the impacts of processes, decisions and communications on the respective offices as well as students. Assists with processing including verification, awarding and appeals. Assists with identifying training needs and delivery. Serves as the subject matter expert for training and reinforces training with Buckeye Link staff. Provides updates and communications to Buckeye Link regarding financial aid information. Resolves and/or provides support with difficult referral cases (including those from the President's Office, Vice President's Office, etc). Serves on task forces and committees. This position is located in Student Financial Aid, but will spend a portion of their time in Buckeye Link. Maintains confidentially of sensitive documents and issues. Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Education/Experience
Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 6+ years of relevant experience is required. Student Financial Aid and/or Buckeye Link experience is required.
Desired: 8-12 years of relevant experience preferred. 3-5 years of progressive work experience in student financial aid highly desired. Knowledge of federal, state, and OSU regulations, policies and procedures. Consistently demonstrated excellent professional judgment. Experience at a large university setting is preferred.

Salary range for this position is $51,500 $52,500. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, units available budget, and the candidates qualifications.
