Student Life Specialist
Job Summary
Reporting to the Associate Director of Student Life, the Student Life Specialist is responsible for planning and implementing a broad range of student programs and events which engage students in the co-curricular student experience. The Specialist will nurture and build campus life, community, belonging, and student success and enrich and enhance the overall GGC college experience.
This position is designated as Campus Security Authority (CSA) and is responsible for reporting crimes and other incidents to the Clery Act Compliance Officer for inclusion in the Annual Campus Security Report in accordance with the Federal Clery Act and GGC policy.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and assist with the planning and implementation of co-curricular events and programs which enhance student life and encourage student engagement on campus.
- Serve as the primary advisor for Greenlight Activities Board, the campus student-led programming board.
- Plan and implement programs which focus on global awareness and understanding by working with the Office of Student Life Belonging Ambassadors.
- Monitor, track, and analyze data to identify trends and gaps in student engagement.
- Assist with the development and implementation of student leadership training and development programs and activities.
- Prepare, process and monitor: purchase orders, invoices, expense reports, supply orders, meeting facilities, event planning, reimbursement requests, travel accommodations, transportation reservations, etc.
- Provide on-site supervision of campus events and activities which includes events and activities taking place in the evenings and/or on weekends.
- Hire, train, and supervise student employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director and/or Associate Director of Student Life.
Required Qualifications
- 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree
- Two to three years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate Degree in higher Education, Student Affairs, Student Personnel Work or closely related field
- Previous experience in a college/university Student Affairs-related setting
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite
- At least one year of progressive experience advising student groups.
- Experience planning, implementing, and evaluating campus activity programs, and leadership programs.
Proposed Salary
42,100 - 50,500
Salary offer will be dependent on candidate's experience and qualifications, internal equity considerations, budget availability, and salary administration guidelines.
