Essential Job Functions
- Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computers, software, and peripheral devices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues for students, faculty, and staff.
- Provide support for network connectivity issues, including Wi-Fi and VPN troubleshooting.
- Assist in setting up and managing accounts for university systems (email, learning management systems, etc.).
- Help with the maintenance and updates of IT documentation, including user guides and troubleshooting logs.
- Assist in inventory management of hardware and software.
- Support the IT department in various tasks related to security, software updates, and system backups.
- Provide customer service by answering IT-related inquiries and offering helpful solutions.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Must be a currently enrolled student at Alcorn State University
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
- Familiarity with troubleshooting common software and hardware issues.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions carefully.
