Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a social media presence for the Office of Advancement at the Panama City Campus.
  • Responsible for attracting and interacting with virtual community users such as perspective students, current students, alumni, and the community.
  • Create college-specific social media channels with each platform to increase visibility of the college's social content.
  • Collaborate with college faculty and staff to generate, edit, publish, and share daily, and or weekly, content that builds meaningful connections with our target audiences.
  • Create, manage, and maintain high quality and socially responsible content for social media.
  • Moderate all user-generated content and messaging when appropriate and in consultation with assigned college staff.
  • Attend on-campus events and activities, as needed, to provide social media coverage, which may include live streams and stories. Take photographs and videos for social media postings.
  • Create an editorial calendar for content scheduling to inform audience of important university and college-related dates, deadlines, and events.
  • Collaborate with departments and programs to manage the college's online identity, identify key stakeholders, and coordinate actions.
  • Stay up to date with the latest social media trends and platform updates to ensure content is relevant and appealing.
  • Understand how each social media channel works, optimizing traffic, and relevant conversations on behalf of the Office of Advancement.
  • Review social media analytics to understand best practices in the industry and to continuously optimize the college's social media presence; solicit students, faculty, and staff insights into relevant topics and content.
  • Maintain the highest level of professionalism and integrity when posting any messages or images to the campus’ social media profile.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • The candidate should possess a strong work ethic, be passionate about promoting the college, and exhibit strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled at FSU Panama City student (all majors welcome), in good academic standing, and have completed at least one semester at FSU.
  • Strong proofreading/ editing skills with careful attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge in utilizing social media for professional networking purposes.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and communication skills.
