Salary Range: $42,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience and qualifications.
Hours: up to 40 hours per week, exempt.

Essential Functions
Job Summary
The Student Success Coach II coaches, mentors, and guides high-priority/high-need students to include student athletes, academically at-risk students, etc. through a caseload support model. This role provides for and serves as a mentor, counselor, and coach to selected high-priority, high-need students. Collaborates with student support units within the Division of Student Success, academic college's Student Success Centers, and other university support services to help students maintain academic progress, eligibility (student-athletes), and timely degree completion.
Core Responsibilities
1. Manages and maintains regular contact with student caseloads to nurture students and assist in their academic journey. Supports students and provides success coaching services in person and remotely, as needed.
2. Monitors student academic progress, communicating with each student regularly on a personalized basis; intervening as necessary to assist those students having difficulty.
3. Serves as a coach and mentor to students to aid in their development of the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and beliefs they need to succeed in college and their careers.
4. Uses student success technology to manage caseload, facilitate outreach, conduct campaigns, and input documentation/notes on student services and individualized success plans.
5. Maintains accurate records of student advising, mentoring, tutoring, etc. contacts, progress toward a degree, and other student learning activities.
6. Develops instructional materials and deliver workshops on topics related to student success. May teach College Success Seminar courses for targeted student populations.
7. Maintains compliance with university, conference, and NCAA rules to ensure academic and administrative integrity.
8. Liaison with UTSA Academic Advising, Disability Services, and other support areas across campus to provide learning assistance to high-priority, high-need students.
9. Collaborates and communicates with students' athletics counselor(s) regarding student learning activities, services and supports provided, referrals for additional services, etc.
10. Participates in regular training and professional development to maintain and increase skill set.
11. Develops and delivers presentations that promote student success coaching and other academic success programs to various campus stakeholders.
12. Abides by the Code of Ethics as set forth by the University of Texas at San Antonio and the University of Texas System.
13. Complies with all State and University policies.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited institution.
- One (1) year of experience in advising, learning assistance, or counseling college student-athletes and/or other priority “at-risk” populations.
- Experience working with ‘at-risk' students or academic counseling experience.
- This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Four (4) years of experience working with college students, college student-athletes, or adolescents in academic advising, academic coaching, learning assistance, or related capacity.
- Experience serving as a learning specialist, academic advisor, or academic success coach.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Familiarity with student records systems.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Standard office equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Working Conditions
- Office environment.
- May be asked to work extended hours within various schedules, including weekends and evenings.
- Occasional travel to professional meetings and conferences.
Physical Demands
- Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required, only occasionally.
- Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
This position will be primarily located on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
