Position Summary

Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a Student Support Manager on our West Bend Campus. The Student Support Manager is responsible for planning, facilitating and oversight of activities, trainings, grants and events regarding culture and community building as well as tracking student success, retention, and the removal of barriers for our students. This position will travel weekly to Fond du Lac and Beaver Dam.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelors degree in higher education, Diversity or Business administration and three years of related experience in student services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, organize, approve and plan all programming and training related to reducing barriers, intercultural competence and cultural awareness for students and employees.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures related to student equity and emergency funds are adhered to and are up to date.
  • Serve as grant manager for the department supporting Perkins grants and all emergency fund grants. Manage grant activities and budget expenditures.
  • Lead the College in the development of the Perkins 3-year plan and provide updates annually; serve as the point of contact for the College to WTCS.
  • Gather and interpret data related to student success and retention efforts.
  • Serve as the College Limited English Proficiency Coordinator collaborating with English Language Learning (ELL) and maintain and update the Colleges Language Access Plan annually.
  • Assess programming needs around culture, community and engagement and access for students by collaborating with faculty, employees and administration.
  • Promote equity and equal access for students regardless of age, race, ethnicity, class, gender, sexual orientation, identity etc.

Experience & Qualifications (in addition to those listed in the summary above)

  • Knowledge of grants including the development process and rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of programming, event planning and intercultural and cultural activities.
  • Knowledge of educational barriers and experiences addressing resources for students.
  • Knowledge of software applications, including Microsoft Office 365 (Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers, including local K-12 schools and human services agencies. Ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently with little supervision and make sound decisions with minimal direction.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize special projects with routine assignments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate clearly and effectively with end users, colleagues, and management to provide a complete and timely explanation of issues and decisions to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • High degree of organizational skills and the ability to quickly interpret and synthesize data and information from multiple sources to develop insights and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.

Desired Qualifications

  • Student Services experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in grant/project writing and administration.
  • Experience planning, implementing, and monitoring budgets within an educational setting.
  • Familiarity with Banner Student Information System and Simplicity Accommodate.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish.

Other Position Requirements

  • May need to work evening and weekend hours occasionally for special events.
  • Must possess a valid drivers license.

Hiring Range: $66,960-$77,669 (pending board approval)

Starting: July 2025

Workplace Flexibility: Limited work from home upon approval

Travel: Frequent
