You will work closely with students to assess individual needs, coordinate reasonable adjustments, and implement tailored support plans, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements while championing equity, inclusion, and access.

Collaborating with academic and professional staff, you will play a key role in fostering an inclusive learning environment. From triaging enquiries and resolving support matters to escalating complex cases, you’ll be central to delivering responsive, student-focused services. You’ll also contribute to awareness initiatives, continuous service improvement, and the broader strategic goals of the AccessAbility and Inclusion team, making a meaningful difference in students’ educational journeys every day.

  • serve as a primary point of contact for student and staff inquiries, proactively identifying complex issues and escalating them appropriately to ensure timely and effective support.

About you

You bring experience providing advice and support in a student-focused or client service environment, with an understanding of accessibility, inclusion and wellbeing principles. You are familiar with reasonable adjustments and relevant legislative or policy frameworks, and are confident managing case processes while maintaining accurate, confidential records in line with privacy requirements. With strong interpersonal and communication skills, you build rapport easily, demonstrate empathy and sound judgement, and handle sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion. Highly organised and adaptable, you can prioritise competing demands, meet deadlines, and deliver responsive, client-centred support, ideally within a higher education or similar environment.

You will possess:

  • Completion of a relevant diploma or equivalent, with experience providing advice to students, particularly in relation to accessibility, inclusion or wellbeing support
  • Understanding of higher education disability support, reasonable adjustments, and inclusive learning practices
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, such as the Disability Discrimination Act, Disability Standards for Education, or other local accessibility regulations
  • Ability to manage, record, and monitor student support processes, maintaining accurate records in compliance with data protection policies
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to display high levels of empathy and effective conflict resolution skills, whilst maintaining confidentiality
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and manage competing demands

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a higher education environment or similar student-facing service role.
