Student Support Officer

- Remuneration: $95,981 to $108,257 pa (HEW5) (inclusive of $81,105 to $91,478 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
- Location: Gardens Point (hybrid option available)

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Student Support Officer to join Office of the Deputy Dean, Faculty of Engineering.
The Student Support Officer role delivers specialist consultation and high quality frontline services to prospective and current students across undergraduate and postgraduate programs. This position provides detailed advice on complex course matters, supports academic decision making processes, and assists the Student Support Coordinator and wider team to maintain strong, effective student administration. The role interacts extensively with students, academic staff, and key stakeholders within and outside the University, contributing to the Faculty’s reputation for excellence in customer service and proactive problem solving. Working as part of the Student Support Team, the position ensures accurate record keeping, compliance with University governance requirements, and collaboration with areas such as Student Administration and HiQ. The role also supports peak workload periods across the Faculty, reviews and improves administrative processes, and upholds health and safety responsibilities. The Student Support Officer reports to the Student Support Coordinator, who provides guidance on performance, development, and career progression.

What you need to succeed
- Education, training and/or experience equivalent to completion of an undergraduate degree.
- Demonstrated ability to provide a high standard of professional client service in a busy, client-oriented environment including the ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines, balance competing demands while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Developed written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team and liaise with a diverse range of people in a professional manner while maintaining confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to use intermediate functions of office technology software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, email, formal systems, social media and databases.
