Student Wellbeing Capability Lead (Health Promotion Coordinator)

Part time, 21 hours per week (3 days) continuing position. Located on the Darlington campus.

Base Salary $112,628 - $122,702 (HEO7) + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

The University of Sydney is currently seeking a Student Wellbeing Capability Lead (Health Promotion Coordinator) to design, deliver and continuously improve health focused capability building programs that strengthen wellbeing, professional practice, and early intervention responses across our community.

Working within the Student Wellbeing and Student Life portfolio, this role blends clinical insight, educational design expertise, and training delivery, contributing to evidence informed health promotion and capability building initiatives. You will play a key part in designing and delivering high quality learning experiences, supporting health related placements, and ensuring program quality through assessment, co design, and coaching.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • design, deliver and evaluate evidence informed wellbeing, health promotion and capability building programs
  • lead the development of training materials, learning resources and assessment approaches, ensuring high quality and accessible learning design
  • deliver training sessions, workshops and development programs (including wellbeing, mental health, and early intervention focused topics)
  • support and assess students, facilitators or trainees undertaking health related capability development, including placement related assessment where required
  • collaborate with internal stakeholders, students and partners to co-design and improve initiatives
  • contribute to continuous program evaluation and quality improvement
  • support peer facilitator or educator training, coaching and debriefing
  • maintain contemporary knowledge of health, wellbeing and capability building practice.

About you

  • experience working in the health field
  • strong capability in educational design, training delivery, and assessment
  • experience developing learning resources, structured training or capability programs
  • experience supporting or assessing learners, students or trainees in a health or wellbeing context
  • the ability to translate clinical or health system knowledge into engaging learning experiences
  • eligibility for registration with a relevant professional body (e.g. AHPRA)
  • flexibility to undertake occasional client facing or clinically informed work where appropriate

Desirable:

  • an allied health background, with experience practising in a clinical role
  • experience in designing competency based assessment, placement oversight or clinical supervision
  • experience working as both a clinician and an educator.

Note: Candidates with exceptional health educational design and training capability will be considered even without clinical experience.
