About the opportunity

The Student Wellbeing Engagement team has a Wellbeing Engagement Advisor position available. We are looking for an outstanding individual who is passionate about education and supporting students throughout their university journey.

As a Wellbeing Engagement Advisor, you will be responsible for facilitating intake, screening and assessment of the wellbeing and support needs of students to enable them to access appropriate services and programs. You will use evidence-based, best practice strategies to deliver timely, accessible, and high-quality services.

Due to the nature of the role, work from home arrangements cannot be accommodated, and this position is required to be performed fully on campus.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • work within a tight-knit team, reporting to the Care and Access Coordinator
  • facilitate the intake, screening, monitoring, and assessment of the wellbeing and support needs of students
  • develop and deliver support, and interventions with the goal of improving the student experience
  • provide triage and crisis intervention including liaison with internal and external service providers
  • proactively contribute to the development of policies and procedures to improve the student experience
  • actively contribute to and promote a safe environment where all people are valued and respected.

About you

  • Proficiency in a second language is required; Mandarin language skills are highly desirable
  • A relevant degree or tertiary qualification in a mental health–related discipline is required
  • An understanding of the student experience and its relationship to student service delivery
  • demonstrated experience in responding to individuals presenting in crisis and/or incident management
  • Ability to facilitate engagement with students and stakeholders and delivery of programs
  • Proven understanding of early intervention strategies
  • Excellent bilingual verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with students and stakeholders

Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This role requires valid work rights for Australia.
