JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

In Summer 2026, Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) will offer a wide range of summer programs for students in grades 6 - 12. Our programs are designed to give participants a brief introduction to a hands-on, project-based college education. Programs are one to five weeks in length. We offer STEM programs such as biomedical engineering, computer science, data science, mechanical engineering, physics, and robotics, as well as various business and humanities courses. JOB DESCRIPTION

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Office of Pre-Collegiate Outreach Programs is seeking to hire part-time instructors for our summer programs with students in grades 6 - 12. These positions are created to provide an available applicant pool for our office and will be filled on an as needed basis. Depending on the program(s) you are interested in teaching, your start date will be either June 22, July 6, July 13, July 20, or July 27. All positions are considered temporary employment for our summer 2026 programs, only.

All applicants require excellent interpersonal skills, good judgement, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. A successful instructor will also exhibit a positive attitude, a sense of humor, and an interest in working with students and staff from diverse backgrounds.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Middle, high school or college teacher who specializes in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, humanities, and/or business.
• Master's Degree required.
• Conditional offer pending a criminal background check.

COMPENSATION:

$2,500 - $6,000 per week or session depending on program
