Job Summary

The research assistant will undertake functionality testing and possible refurbishment of two instruments: a 1.6K bolometer and the SHARCII camera.

Essential Job Duties

• Modest mechanical design and assembly work
• Opening and closing of cryostats
• Cooldown of cryostats to liquid helium temperature and pumping on liquid helium bath
• Testing of detectors
• Measurement of response to optical sources
• Measurement of noise
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

• Basic programming skills in python
• Some lab experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with liquid cryogenics

Hiring Range

$19.00 - $25.00 Per Hour

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
