Summer Student Painter 2026

Salary Range: $17.35 per hour

Salary Determination: Starting salary rates are based on negotiated labor contracts.

Position Summary:

Working with campus painters engaging in a variety of painting needs, primarily interior painting. These are temporary positions from May 18 through August 14.

Working 4 days per week at a minimum of 28 hours. Opportunity for additional hours as well. Monday - Wednesday 6:00am - 2:30pm, Thursday 6:00am - 10:00am for Dorm Maintenance Monday - Wednesday 7:00am - 3:30pm, Thursday 7:00am - 11:00am for Paint Crew

SELECTED CANDIDATES MAY NOT HOLD ANOTHER POSITION ON CAMPUS DURING THE DURATION OF THIS ASSIGNMENT. PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO APPLICATIONS RECEIVED BY WEDNESDAY, APRIL 15, 2025.

Major Responsibilities:

Maintenance activities will include assisting staff with prepping/repairing residence hall rooms for returning students.

Functional and Supervisory Relationships:

Reports to Jeremiah Rawson

Required Qualifications:

Positions are being offered to SUNY and Community College Students. Minimally, you must be enrolled on at least a half time basis over the summer sessions, and/or be enrolled to commence studies for the Fall 2026 semester (proof of matriculation will be required). Students graduating in May 2026 are NOT eligible.

Must have the ability to perform moderate physical labor (lifting up to 50 lbs.)

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to applicants that have a valid driver's license. Any type of maintenance experience (painting, carpentry, masonry).
