Working independently and exercising good judgment and discretion, the History Summer Temp works in the Chaplains Museum during its summer hours of operation. The History Summer Temp is responsible to arrive at work on time and assist museum visitors in a professional and courteous manner. The History Summer Temp is responsible to be knowledgeable about the various exhibits in order to provide tours and answer visitors' questions. Various research projects may be assigned and should be completed in a timely manner. The History Summer Temp works directly with the Museum Director, Professor Donna Donald.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Be responsible to open and close the museum during business hours. (Monday, Thursday, Friday, 11am-4pm, Saturday 10am-3pm)
- Greet visitors and give tours as needed.
- Perform research work as requested.
- Perform any applicable tasks requested by the Museum Director.
- Adhere to the provided museum policies.
- Strictly adhere to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
- Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU's mission.
Qualifications, Credentials, and Competencies
History student majors are strongly preferred. Graduate students are preferred. Prior museum experience is helpful, but not required.
